The Foundation of the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition grants a research project on vascular risk factors of IRBLleida
The Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition Foundation (FSEEN) has awarded the research project 'Advanced glycation end products and atheromatous load: role of fluorescence in plaque formation' of the Basic and Clinical Group of Immunology and Endocrinology of IRBLleida, a group Consolidated of the University of Lleida, of the Endocrinology and Nutrition Service of the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital (HUAV).
IRBLleida Researchers show that arterial ultrasound helps to determine the risk of cardiovascular disease in kidney patients
Researchers at the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) and University of Lleida (UdL) have shown that arterial ultrasound (an economic, painless and accessible test) improves the prediction that kidney patients suffer from cardiovascular disease. Arterial ultrasound can detect atheromatous plaques (accumulated fat in the arteries), a predictor of cardiovascular events, as published in Plos One.
