The main interest of our laboratory is the study of the molecular events underlying the oncogenic process in colorectal, gastric, head-and-neck and endometrial cancer. Gaining a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms responsible for the tumorigenic process is essential to improve diagnosis, but most importantly to identify novel actionable targets for patient treatment. We are also interested in the identification of predictive biomarkers and the study of drug-induced senescence to contribute to precision medicine and to the design of alternative treatment strategies for colorectal cancer patients, respectively. Finally, we explore novel therapeutic options for microvillus inclusion disease (MVID), a rare life-threatening intestinal disorder.
