Facilities

Since 2017, the Clinical Trials Unit of IRBLleida has been located on the ground floor of the Biomedicine II building.

It comprises a fully renovated and specially designed area equipped with the facilities and systems required for the conduct of a wide range of clinical trials:

• Fully equipped dedicated medical consultation rooms for the examination and follow-up of patients participating in clinical studies. These rooms are fitted with computers connected to the networks of Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital and Santa Maria University Hospital.
• Reception area and waiting room for study participants and their relatives.
• Dedicated laboratory equipped with all the necessary facilities for the processing of biological samples, including a Class II biosafety cabinet, centrifuges, and an incubator.
• Clinical Trials Pharmacy.
• Restricted-access medication storage room with controlled ambient temperature.
• Refrigeration equipment room with monitored alarm systems and centralized temperature control.
• Storage areas for consumables and other materials.
• Meeting room available for clinical trial monitoring visits and/or external audits.
• Archive for active clinical studies.
• External archive for the secure storage of documentation in accordance with current regulations.
• Offices dedicated to the coordination of clinical trials.
