Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine or Biomedical Engineering

Tasks to be carried out

The selected person will join the Vascular and Renal Translational Research Group of IRBLleida, within the research line " Study of the role of miRNAs in the cellular response to lipotoxic damage in obesity-associated nephropathy", within the framework of the project PP10904 - "miRNAs as Powerful Regulators of Obesity-Associated Nephropathy. Identification of potential biomarkers and Therapeutic Targets (MIR-PROTECT)".

Some of the tasks that will be carried out are:

  • Cell culture, RNA extraction, and qRT-PCR
  • Western blotting, immunoperoxidase stains, and immunofluorescence
  • Experimental work with animals, genotyping, maintenance of mouse lines 
  • Writing scientific articles

It will be valued

Knowledge

  • Master's degree in Biomedicine.
  • Master's degree with a record mark equal to or greater than 8.5.
  • Accredited level of English B2 or higher, oral and written.

Experience

  • Research experience of more than 1 year in a biomedical research laboratory.
  • Demonstrable expertise in cell culture, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, microscopy, qRT-PCR, and western blotting.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of murine models of kidney disease and colony maintenance. 
  • Demonstrable ability to write scientific content in English (Master's thesis written and defended in English).
  • Co-author of scientific publications related to the area of kidney diseases.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in biostatistics, with experience in the use of R and RStudio, as well as in scientific computer tools for data and image analysis (ImageJ, Image Lab and GraphPad).
  • Participation in scientific dissemination activities (conferences, seminars, Research Night, Area Retreat, etc.).
