Patients Commission

Presentation

The Patients Commission is an advisory and participatory body that promotes the involvement of patients and patient representatives in the research, innovation and knowledge transfer activities carried out at IRBLleida. The commission serves as a platform for dialogue between researchers, healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring that the patient perspective is considered in the design, development and dissemination of research activities. By fostering patient engagement, the commission contributes to making research more relevant, accessible and responsive to societal and healthcare needs. It also supports IRBLleida's commitment to responsible research and innovation, public engagement and patient-centred research.

Functions

To promote the active participation of patients and patient associations in research and innovation activities.
To advise researchers and institutional bodies on incorporating the patient perspective into research projects.
To facilitate communication and collaboration between researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and society.
To identify patient needs, priorities and concerns that may be relevant for research activities.
To contribute to the co-creation of research initiatives, dissemination actions and public engagement activities.
To support the development of patient-centred research approaches and outcomes.
To Review and provide feedback on materials intended for participants, patients or the general public to improve clarity and accessibility.
To encourage awareness of patient involvement principles across the IRBLleida community.
To promote collaborations with patient associations and other organisations representing citizens and healthcare users.
To contribute to strengthening the social impact of research conducted at IRBLleida.
